NFTE(Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship)

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, also referred to as NFTE, is an international non-profit organization providing entrepreneurship training and education programs to young people from low-income urban communities. I support and will always encourage young kids to take this course as in school because it will set them up go succeed with their business once they get out and pursue their business fulltime.

NFTE(Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship)

I took the NFTE course when I was in high school senior year and it was one if the best programs I ever took. They teach you the basics of what it takes to be a Entrepreneur and ways you can be successful at it. One of the first things I remember them teaching me about an elevator pitch. Where your trying to in less than 5 mins to describe your product and try to make a sale with it. With an elevator pitch which I will talk about in a later post but you only have time to bring out the most important facts about your product or business. But NFTE is starting to expand now and even if you go to the website www.nfte.com you will read success stories from young adults that took the NFTE course and completed it and are now multimillionaires just from creating and selling a product. There is a lot more to a business than just creating a product or offering a service, business is also about customer service and making wise decisions. If you have kids or are a young student in school right now and your county/school offers this course I encourage you to sign up for it because this is a good start for starting a business and is all free of charge. Not to mention they do a lot of activities that involve famous and real world entrepreneur’s that talk to you answer questions and give advice on what you can do to make your business more of a success.   I’ll have a article on my artist and business tools page soon talking about the NFTE programs and I’ll be giving a little more background information on them and the success stories of people that joined this program. As well as events you can attend too to show your support for upcoming Entrepreneurs. Thank you for reading and remember its never to late to start your own business.

LinkedIn. Should you create an Account?

Well, for those who haven’t heard of LinkedIn or don’t know what it is it’s a business and employee-oriented service that operators via websites and mobile apps. Its mostly used for professional networking where employers can post jobs and job seekers posting their CVs. You can download the LinkedIn app either on the Googleplay Store or Apple iTunes Store.

It also gives you the ability to create your own profile and resúme. That is the reason why I believe you should create a LinkedIn account because it free and it gives the ability for people to find you and know your skills and capabilities. This is just not for owning a business it’s also for individual people trying to build their profile in reference to building there own career.

When you do create an account you want to add as much work as you done over your entire career. Don’t hold anything back make sure to put all the experience you have an even example of your work. The more you gave the better, people will like what they see and you want to write and make it as professional as possible. That’s another reason why having a blog is a good thing too so people have something to go back on.

In this world today you can always find work and make a descent pay it just takes the right employer to find us. And you also have to put yourself out there and show that this is the career you want. I’ll have a artist tip page soon on this subject but I just wanted to post this as advice for the benefits of using LinkedIn. Thanks for reading and I’d like to hear your thoughts!

Finances in Business? What are they and why is it important?

Finances. As most of us know in our daily lives we go over our finances all the time especially when we have bills to pay. We use finances to go over our bills to see how much were spending, how much were making, and to budget out where we can save. To be honest now most banks offer help to help you manage your finances so you can keep track of your spending, which is very important if you want to stay in control of your money.

Well, the same goes for business and it is even more important the bigger the business. You have to always be in control of your money and always find ways to save. The more you save the better you can never go wrong with saving and the way to do that doesn’t always have to be with cutting labor. That is a last resort if your business is failing and you need to lay off employees to save the business. But with you need to try to on your controllable’s.

Your controllable’s include lets say for example, it may be tools, supplies, vendors, food products, brands, etc. Lets say with supplies you may be getting your art supplies from one company that is charging you twice as much as another company that may offer a discount for getting a bulk of those supplies. If its transportation maybe you can consider controlling operating expenses. There are always ways to cut back and save and in a lot of cases doing inventory on a monthly basis can help you to see where your at. Remember that knowing your finances are very important and is very effective to a business.

Planning and ahead and always saving is the best way to go. You never know what may happen so having money set to the side in case of emergency is the way to go. Have yourself a check list, binder, receipts, bills, etc. to stay on track of your finances. Even if you ask your bank to help organize your finances so you remain ahead of the profit you make as a business.

I will be making more post on tips for running a business and I will be creating a page soon under the artist tips page for those looking for advice to run a cost efficient business. Thanks for reading and I hope this helps. Stay Tuned.

Motivation! Never give up on your Dream!

I’m gonna be honest with everyone I’m not alone in saying this because a lot of people have gone through this too. Don’t ever let what happen to you in your past put you down. Especially when it is something that wasn’t good for you, I was married had a toxic relationship for years and even was giving up what I love to do just to keep her happy. But I came to realise that I was giving up on myself because I thought I could make someone else happy and thought that love could be bought. I had a nice website before was starting to get well known, was making some money from my blog and I was giving all that away because of wrong decision I made in the past! Never give up although I’ve moved on and had family and friends to get me back on my feet. I almost had a accident that almost caused me my life and I’ve learned to never hold on to something that isn’t meant to be! My message to you Entrepreneur and artist or to anyone else that has gone through this or worse “you can succeed and it’s never to late to try again”. Its taking me time and it’s a process but I can and I believe I can become that artist/Entrepreneur I want to be. And my goal is to help others that may need help on where to start and to offer suggestions on what they need to do. If you can repost or share to help someone that just needs that little push to get them the Entrepreneur spirit!
