New Comic Art! New Features Coming.

Hey everyone, sorry its been a while since I posted I’ve been very busy and just finished upgrading this site to add a lot of new plugins to make user experience better. Beginning next year I will have a free and pro membership plan set up where anyone can join brownscomicart and add their own art gallery and their very own page through paid subscription. More details will be available in later post as I’m still working and developing these features. I will also begin to start my kandkart YouTube channel again to make tutorials on art related features. I will be having more art posted in the next few weeks and I’ll be posting some to my twitter and Instagram as well. Below is a drawing of sexy Instagram model @Lalovetheboss. This Portrait 6 hours to draw but it was worth it. I love her as a model because she keeps everything all natural especially with her hair. Which it reminds me of hot actress Pam Grier. Let me know what you think.

Vuescan. Best Software for Scanners!

VueScan is a software program that is used as a drive to make scanners that don’t have drive work. For example the scanner that I have a Musket Express A3 scanner it came with the software driver but it didn’t work because they updated the drivers years ago so people couldn’t use the driver which means your computer can’t find the scanner even though you have it connected. Their are other programs out there that offer driver software for the scanner too but to me VueScan is the best most reasonable priced driver out there.  Below is a link to the VueScan site and pictures of the VueScan software and a picture of the Musket Express A3 scanner which is one of the devices that the driver is outdated. I will be posting another article in full on the “Artist Tip Page” stay tuned for updates.

Never be ashamed to display your nude art! Great Post!

Let’s take a leap of time into the contemporary era; our era. Spearheaded by Marcel Duchamp who decides to portray a nude lady walking down a staircase in form of abstract geometric forms which to be honest make the lady practically unrecognizable. It is also impossible to determine any sense of concrete time and space […]

How to write a Comic Script?

Hey Everyone in this post I will telling you how to write your own comic strip and how it is usually organized. When it comes to scripts even when your talking about in movies, plays, dramas, TV shows, etc. you need too always start with your ideas and generate a plot. To be very honest just about all scripts are very similar just that the formats change a bit when dealing with Comics. Like with Comics your dealing with panels so you have to write what is happening , what’s being said, how the background/artwork will be, camera angle, and how big the panel will be. When I say Panel I’m talking about how big the box comic where you draw you scene in will be. Below is an example of a comic strip I made by using the comic script outline. You may use this as a reference and is copyright by brownscomicart.com. I will have an Artist too page about comic scripts coming soon.

Coding! What is it? How to use it?

Hey folks, as we advance with technology coding is growing and is the way we operate when it comes to computers. Coding is what makes it possible for us to create computer software, apps and websites. Your browser, your OS, the apps on your phone, Facebook, etc.  they’re all made with coding. Coding is also used in a lot of video games that we play on xboxOne, Playstation 4, App Store games, and PC gaming. There are game engines that use coding to create their video games Unity is one that uses coding for most of the programming. Unreal Engine 4 using coding in a way but most theirs is broken down into blueprints which we will talk about in a later post. Coding is also used to create Game Engines like Unity and Unreal Engine. Coding is something that takes some time to learn but their have a lot of free courses available out there to teach you how to code, with some even offering you a certificate in coding. Now here is the thing having a certificate in coding isn’t going to help you get a job unless you fully understand how to code and have to have projects like websites, games, apps, etc. showing proof you know how to code and that you got the certificate with your knowledge of understanding it. I will be creating a page in the artist tips page soon to talk more about coding and show you some of the projects I’m working with right now in coding. I will also be posting on twitter websites you can go to take free courses for coding.

Below is a picture from google showing you Unity 3D and as you can see its free software too you. Go check it out at madewith.unity.com

iClone Character Creator

iClone some of you all may be familiar with it and if you that’s good but for those that don’t know iClone is a program that allows you to create a character that with the right upgrade you can import your character to the unity or unreal game engine. It is a long process and is difficult and I’m still experimenting with iClone Character creator and iClone 6 Pro. Their is a difference between the iClone Character creator and iClone 6 Pro. Character creator is where you actually create the character and add features too them like tattoos, clothes, make them muscular, male or female, etc. So below you can see some work in progress I’m watching and writing down a lot of tutorials to help me out with this project. Current status below….#workinprogress

Michael Turner. Why he was my biggest influence!

Michael Layne Turner was an American comic book artist known for his work on Witchblade, Fathom, Superman/Batman, Soulfire, and various covers for DC Comics and Marvel Comics. He was also the president of the entertainment company Aspen MLT. Wikipedia.

Sadly on June 27, 2008 at the age of 37 from bone cancer. He was well known for for his Artwork in the DC Comics Superman/Batman which is one of my favorite DC Comics novels and was a top seller too. As seen below his art was fantastic in this book and the colorist was good too, just look below at the inside cover.

I can’t get over how he draws out the background in the city. He has done some work for work for Marvel and was hired by Marc Silvestri  (Top Cow Productions) to do work for them too) in the comics Witchblade. Every piece of art was just brilliant too he made sure too include every detail into each of his drawings. Below is his Witchblade comics from Top Cow Productions and a photo of Michael Turner himself. I’ll will make post and will create a special page of famous comic book artist and their stories.

What Paper do you use to make Comics?

Comic Books, where to start, what paper do you use? Well, as most of you know the Comic book industry is very big and only growing. So Comic Art Board Paper is always on high demand and now you can almost find it in any arts & craft store. Comic Art Board paper is what many people/artist use to create professional comics on a big size paper known as A3 paper(a.k.a. 11×17 paper)  which is very good quality paper for drawing and creating panels on. Artist use Comic Art Board Paper because it gives them a lot of space to work with as their trying to make space for the word bubble to go on. It’s easier to shrink a large 11×17 size paper to comic size format than to create a comic on legal size paper 8×11; although it can be done just better quality using 11×17 paper. Check below to see how the comic art board paper looks like and the different types of paper available. *(All pictures from google images. Not my Pictures.)*

Blank Comic Art Paper

Blank Comic Art Board Paper. As seen this type of paper is 11×17 and it does provide the bleed area but doesn’t provide a trim area and doesn’t have the extra dash to help tell you where you would crop your comic too for publishing.

Comic Art Board Paper

As you see in this picture this Comic Art Board Paper you have bleed area and the trim area too help tell you the area you should try to stay in while drawing your comics. Check before purchasing what Comic Art Board Paper has these extra contents, not all paper has these contents.
