The world of Digital Art

In this time and age a lot artist are now doing all their work digitally. Even the most popular comic book companies like Marvel, DC Comics, Top Cow, Image Comics, etc. Now there are some benefits to doing all digital because in the long run it can actually save you a lot of money. In terms of comics it saves money on stuff like paper, pencils, ink pens, supplies, etc. which in turn is more profit for the company/artist. I like doing digital artwork depending on the the type of artwork it is. Below is an example of a piece of digital art I did a few years ago and I always loved this drawing it took about 5 hours to do. Which is another thing depending on how good you are with using software programs like Adobe Photoshop CS5, 6, and other coloring programs you may be able to do a drawing in an hour or less. Usually drawing all digital takes more time but its easier to go back and fix a mistake you may have made. Soon I will create an artist tip page to talk more on the subject of digital art and the pros & cons of it. I hope you enjoy the piece below and would appreciate any comments on it.

Now working on Coloring in Photoshop CS6!

Greetings to all, I’ve been very busy and haven’t had the time to post in a while, but now I’m currently working on inking my drawings and coloring them using Adobe Photoshop CS6. I ink my drawings using ink pens and I add additional lines to add more detail to the art. Below you’ll see the progress of what I’ve been working on using Adobe Photoshop CS6 and how good your drawing’s can be when you have these good tools. Take note to even if you have Photoshop Elements 9 you can still get some of the same results because they have some of the same tools as CS6 just not all of them. The benefit of coloring you artwork in Photoshop is that you have room for error. You can always go back and fix a mistake that you made and also most Comic book company’s Marvel, DC Comics, Image, Top Cow, etc. all use Photoshop to add words and to add coloring to the comic. I will be having a tutorial using imaging with Photoshop on how to use Photoshop to color you artwork. Stay tuned!
